Join us from 12pm-6pm to see some old friends, signup for new memberships, apply to join the new Genny Crew, pitch your workshop idea, apply for studio artist or build space, eat pizza and start making art!
Hi Members!
We are sad to announce that we are unable to host our Soft Opening on October 2nd, 2021. Unfortunately, due to denied permitting we can not have members or the public inside the building until it is sorted out with the City of Sparks Fire. We expect for this to happen soon, but due to it being out of our hands, we must tread on the side of caution and push back the opening.
We are bummed that we have to cancel our small get together, which was meant to be a chance to see some old faces, have a returning member meeting, host orientations for our new building, and eat loads of pizza. We are even more bummed that at this time, we cannot move in studio artists, accept new or returning members or allow the creation of art within the building.
The workshops we had on the schedule for October (with the exception of The Spooky Multimedia Kids Art Camp) have been canceled or rescheduled for the month of November. As of right now, we are not canceling our grand opening party, kids camp or multiday mini-golf event, in hopes of things being sorted by then. If we do need to cancel these events, a new update will be posted in regards to it, and everyone directly involved will be contacted.
We will keep updating as we know more information and attempt to keep everyone in the loop. Thank you for the continuous support during these unsure times, we look forward to seeing everyone soon when we open up our maker space once again.

Membership Information
TEMPORARY BUILD SPACE
If you’re in need of more space for a large scale project such as Quality of Life, Bee Dance, or Space Whale, fill out our build space application form. These spaces get booked up quickly, so if you’d like to start a large scale project once we are in the Oddie District, we highly recommend submitting this form soon. Temporary build space is $0.75/sq ft, and access to the space after hours is dependent on your contract.
STUDIO ARTIST SPACE
In the past, we’ve offered a limited number of Studio Art spaces to active Generator members. As we move into The Oddie District we are excited to bring back our Studio Artist program and offer up space for working adult artists in the Reno-Sparks area. Areas will be rented in 10x10 or 10x15 spaces, at $0.75 a sqft.
Studio Artists will receive full access to the building during open and off hours.
TEACH A WORKSHOP
We are looking to fill out our schedule with awesome classes taught by members of our community, sharing their expertise and knowledge with those who want to expand their skills and follow their curiosity. Workshops will be starting the week of 10/5/21, and we would like to get consistent classes on the schedule until the end of December. We can host workshops between Tuesday-Saturday between 12pm-9pm.
Teach a single class, a multiday intensive, or regularly scheduled programming.
JOIN THE GENNY CREW
To ensure inclusivity across all members, we offer limited work exchange positions each year to qualified members. The Genny Crew commits to providing volunteer support to the Generator in unique ways. All members of The Genny Crew receive a monthly membership at no cost, as well as other benefits throughout the year.
Monthly Standard Memberships give Crew members access to the Generator during open hours each month. Shop Stewards, and other approved positions, may receive additional benefits such as access to the space outside of open hours, dedicated studio space, or other benefits that support these specialized positions. Benefits are approved by Generator staff.
Positions are posted as needed throughout the year. Some positions require additional application process.
